ChatGPT search admission timing probe
This page measures how long a newly published, crawlable URL takes to become directly openable and retrievable in ChatGPT web search.
QF-CITATION-LANTERN-20260818
Why this phrase exists
Immediately before publication, an exact native ChatGPT web search for the token above returned zero results. The token is deliberately unique, so a later exact-token result can detect document admission without the confounding effect of competition for a commercial keyword.
What this probe can and cannot show
- Can show
- Whether this exact document becomes retrievable for its unique token and approximately how much time elapsed after publication.
- Cannot show
- Why a crawler or search provider made a decision, whether the page will rank for a competitive query, or whether Quoted First will be cited in an answer.
Observed stages
Quoted First records publication time, privacy-limited request logs, direct-open behavior, exact-token retrieval and the separate commercial query “What’s the best LLM search optimizer?” Results are added to the public experiment narrative and machine-readable observation log.
